Everyday your child will be writing their homework in their learning log. This will contain all of the homework assignments for that week. It should be kept in the front of their binder. If it is misplaced during the week, please be sure to check the website.
Parents should check homework every night to see that it is done accurately.
Typically, homework will consist of these assignments:
1) Math: Math homework will start on Monday and will be due the next day. This will continue every day, unless there is a test.
2) Reading Comprehension:We will practice in class, then a reading comprehension worksheet will go home every Monday and it will be due every Thursday. Please remember to highlight where you found the answer and write the paragraph numbers next to each question. Refer to the handout in your child's binder for directions.
3) Fluency: Practice fluency everyday and write down the amount of words your child got correct per minute. Don't forget to sign fluency daily.
4) Spelling: All Spelling homework will be completed at home. Only use the spelling notebook for homework. For Thursday's homework, please make sure to write it in the spelling notebook. There will be a Test every Friday.
5) Read 15-20 minutes
6) Reflex: Reflex is a fun way to increase the math facts fluency. Students need to do reflex until they get the green light.
7) History, Science, and Literature:Study the study guides/packets as they come home completed. Please keep their packet in their binder. This is not something they need to do at home. All packets will be completed in class.
